Our door prices also include the cost of manufacturing, installation and a guarantee.
What type of door is best for my home?
The best type of door for your home is one that is secure, draught-free and suits your style. It is also important that the door you choose suits the position of your home, such as homes that Composite and uPVC external doors are the most versatile and affordable. Aluminium is all about style and wood is an ideal choice for period homes. Our team will help match the perfect Anglian door type to suit your requirements.
Do new doors for a house add value to your home in the UK?
A new front door is an investment that can add value to your home. When buyers look at your home, your front door is the first thing they see and upgrading your front door improves the whole look of your home, which can help add value to the property. A new exterior door can also help improve the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) of your property, which given rising energy costs, also helps add value. Even the colour you choose could help increase the value as well.
How do double-glazed doors work?
Like our double-glazed windows, Anglian double-glazed doors have two panes of glass and a layer of inert gas in the space between. The gas between the panes acts as an insulating barrier to slow down the rate at which heat escapes your home. The overall effect of the glass and the gas means the transfer of heat and cold is lower, keeping more heat inside your home and stopping the cold getting inside. Door types with a lot of glass, such as bifold, French or patio doors, see the biggest benefit from double-glazing.
How secure are double-glazed doors?
How secure a double-glazed door is depends on the material, manufacturer and the locking mechanism. Most door materials are strong and hard to break into, but this can depend on the quality of the material. Every Anglian house door has multi-point locking and a Kitemarked cylinder lock with anti-pick, anti-drill, and anti-snap technology. The lock comes with a guarantee that will pay out in the unlikely event that they are snapped. The cylinder locks on our uPVC and Composite doors are Secured by Design accredited, a police initiative that promotes doors and windows whose construction is designed to stop intruders.
How long do double-glazed doors last?
With a lifespan of around 30 years or more, new double-glazed doors are a worthwhile investment to protect your home. How long a double-glazed door lasts often depends on the material you choose and sometimes on the company you get your door from. Our Aluminium and Composite doors can last more than 30 years if well maintained. Our White uPVC doors hold a BBA accreditation, and last up to 35 years with regular maintenance and cleaning. Wooden front doors can last a lifetime if you take care of them, and our wooden doors have a 30-year guarantee on their finish against rot and fungal attack.
