Anglian Home Improvements is calling on Norfolk families and football fans to donate tinned goods to support the Norfolk Community Foundation’s Nourishing Norfolk programme this Christmas.
The food drive will be held at Carrow Road on Sunday, December 15th, from 11am to 3pm, before the Norwich City FC match against Burnley. Delia Smith, Anglian Home Improvements, and Norwich City FC are encouraging fans to donate essential items.
Delia Smith will be at the stadium to promote the drive and engage with supporters. She will also appear in filmed content to raise awareness of the Nourishing Norfolk programme, which combats food insecurity during the festive season.
Donations of tinned goods like fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, soups, and meals are needed to support the 26 food hubs of Nourishing Norfolk. These hubs help families access nutritious food with dignity, especially during the financially challenging Christmas period.
Donations will be collected at Anglian Home Improvements vehicles near the Gunn Club and Delia’s Restaurant entrances at Carrow Road. Volunteers will thank fans for their generosity.
Those unable to attend can donate at The Nest on Holt Road, Horsford, from December 9th to 15th, or via JustGiving or QR codes around Carrow Road on matchday.
Anglian Home Improvements and Norwich City FC are each donating £1,000 to Nourishing Norfolk.
The Nourishing Norfolk programme, part of Norfolk Community Foundation, helps local families access affordable, healthy food through 26 food hubs. Since its launch, over 35,000 people have benefitted, saving up to 40% on their weekly shopping. The hubs also offer budgeting, cooking tips, and advice to help families escape food poverty.
Rachael Munby, Chief Marketing Officer at Anglian Home Improvements, said, “More families are struggling with rising living costs, especially in winter. By collecting tinned food and making a donation, we hope to make a real difference this Christmas.”
Sophie Berry, Corporate Giving Manager at Norfolk Community Foundation, added, “Nourishing Norfolk brings communities together to build healthier, more resilient neighbourhoods. We’re grateful to Anglian Home Improvements and Norwich City FC for their support.”
Zoe Webber, Executive Director at Norwich City FC, said, “We’re proud to support this important food drive. Christmas can be tough for many, and we want to use our community’s power to help those in need. We encourage everyone attending the match to donate long-shelf-life food products.”
